About Kathie Brown

With the exception of the first four years of my life, I have spent my time in schools. After high school in Milwaukee , Wisconsin, I earned a BA in English and Speech/Theater from Dominican College in Racine. Immediately following, I enjoyed being an English teacher at Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Nineteen years later, with an MA in Educational Administration, I moved into an administrative position at the same school. Six years later, an unusual opportunity appeared.

A new Catholic high school was in the design stage in the southwest metro area of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. I was asked to be part of a community team to create the vision and turn farm land into a college preparatory Catholic high school. That was nineteen years ago. Today, this school family continues to grow and learn together. Though I have acquired another degree (Ed.S), the deepest learning has come from what each generation has needed from those who have chosen to work with teens. Walking alongside our students through their high school years is our definition of “lifelong learning.”
